the Author

Kimberly Baltz has been writing children’s stories since she was about eight years old. She
began writing poetry when she was eleven years old. Recently, she decided to combine her
love of poetry and children’s stories to write stories about Frieda, a fox who regularly
visits her family’s home in Grand Lake, Colorado.

Ms. Baltz attended the prestigious University of Pennsylvania, receiving her Bachelor of
Science in Economics from the Wharton School of Business. She went on to attend the
University of Colorado School of Law. Only recently has she returned to her original love of
writing and artwork. Kimberly also enjoys creating artwork with pastels and acrylics.

Marty Petersen

the Illustrator

Marty Petersen grew up drawing, painting, sculpting & carving anything he could get his hands on; luckily his parents supported this and allowed him to continue to develop along the artistic vein.

Marty attended Kendall School of Design in Michigan, receiving degrees in Illustration and Commercial Art. He then moved to Colorado with a fellow Kendall graduate & formed an Ad Agency in Aspen. Marty worked as designer/illustrator for several years, also carving and painting signs for local businesses & restaurants, before relocating to the Colorado Front Range where he resides now. Best known as the artist that illustrated the “Justification For Higher Education” poster, his first love is illustrating children’s stories.
